LOS ANGELES - November 26, 2003 - When Steele Platt founded the original Yard House located in Long Beach, California in 1996 he launched a fantastic new concept that was named winner of the 2002 HOT CONCEPTS award from Nations Restaurants News. Best described as an upscale pub and eatery - Yard House has quickly developed into one of the premier dining destinations in Southern California.
With such a well received brand, Yard House felt they needed an Internet presence of similar caliber to promote their unparalleled selection of beers and dining treats as well as serve as a revenue generating tool by selling gift cards and other accessories online. Yard House came to DreamBox looking for a company to partner with who would not only satisfy these requirements and provide a great looking site, but also develop the back-end content management capabilities and inventory management to facilitate future site updates and tracking.
"Our goal with the Yard House site was to produce a site that would not only serve the needs of Yard House customers - but also act as a tool to promote the brand to prospective customers who may be wondering 'what is a Yard House'," says Danielle Takata, Art Director at DreamBox. "In addition to extensive information both graphically and content-based on each location - we also felt it was important to include an element that would be useful to someone at any time - regardless of if they're planning a night at Yard House right away or not." Yard House Invites was born.
Allowing web site users the ability to promote an upcoming event to friends through yardhouse.com and Email - Yard House Invites lets a user select a design template pertaining to their event-theme ('Girls Night Out', 'Great Food!'...etc.), add invitees and finally track those invitees who have either agreed to attend or not.
In addition to offering 'Yard House Invites' the yardhouse.com site also includes a fun and imaginative Flash introduction, information about each Yard House location (including awards and photographs) and the ability for customers to order 'Beer Gear' online.
