The
business of searching and
booking travel fares online
has become a significant source
of income for airlines of
the 21st century.
For
the past 30 years, Singapore
Airlines has been recognized
as one of the top airlines
in the world. Expanding their
reach as a global carrier
has involved both adding the
actual service as well as
publicizing it. It is the
latter for which they came
to DreamBox.
One
of the most effective methods
of conveying an airline's
reach is through a graphic
representation of their route
structure in the form
of a route map. In true Singapore
Airlines fashion the
goal of establishing a "best
in class" route map was
presented to DreamBox. The
map was to excel both technically
as well as aesthetically while
keeping a strong focus on
ease of use.
With
the map's launch came the
need to market the product.
Through the design of banner
advertisements, Singapore
was able to promote the map,
beginning with their USA and
Canada sites (more to follow).
